The City will begin construction for Phase 1 of a recreation trail, a.k.a. bike path, in the fall of 2019. The trail will provide a safer way for Galion residents to walk, run, and bike, as the community does not currently have a pedestrian-only, recreational trail. The project is being funded by the Egbert M. Freese Foundation. Estimated cost is $250,000.
Phase 1: Galion Waste Water Treatment Plant north along the Olentangy River, to Bucyrus Road.
Phase 2: Galion Waste Water Treatment Plant west to Biddle Road, then south to Amann Reservoir.
Phase 3: North on Hesby Drive and through the Galion City Schools campus (exact location to be determined).
