NOTICE: The City’s bill printing provider made an error on the June utility bills. Customers will receive a corrected bill next week. We apologize for this inconvenience. The electronic version of the bill is correct and customers may access it by logging in to their online account.
The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is extended until June 1, 2020. Effective immediately, Ohioans who are applying for these programs, or enrolling in the Percentage of Income Payment Plus (PIPP) for the first time, are no longer required to visit a local Energy Assistance Provider in order to complete an application. At Ohio Heartland Community Action, appointments will be completed over the phone during the scheduled appointment time rather than face-to-face. You can also visit www.energyhelp.ohio.gov to start your application and upload the required documents.
If you have experienced job loss due to the COVID-19 emergency, Crawford County Job & Family Services has resources available through its expanded PRC program which can help with monthly household expenses. Please call 419-562-8066 for more information.
On-Line Bill Pay
Payment of utility charges may be made online with a credit card, debit card, or check. The city’s online provider is Secure Pay. This guide will help you create an account, otherwise click the icon below to go to our on-line payment portal:
When making an online payment, it takes one business day for payments to show online. If you make a payment and are not sure if it went through, DO NOT make a second payment. Please contact the Galion Utility Office for verification of the transaction, or opt in to receive verification emails through your online account.
You may pay directly from your bank account. The due amount is electronically withdrawn from your bank account each month on the due date. Payments will not show until the next business day following your payment. A bill is still provided to you so that you’ll know in advance what amount will be withdrawn. To enroll, please complete and return the enrollment form. A voided check must be included with the completed form so that we use correct banking information.
NO IN PERSON PAYMENTS are being accepted while COVID-19 restrictions are in place. Payments are also accepted in person at 115 Harding Way East between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You may pay by check, credit/debit card, money order, or cash.
Mailed payments should be sent to the following address:
PO BOX 820
Galion, Ohio 44833-0820
For your convenience in making payments after hours, there is night drop box at our office, 115 Harding Way East. Please do not place cash in the drop box.
SPECIAL NOTE: The City of Galion does NOT accept payments over the phone. While we do sometimes need to call customers, you will never be asked to make a payment by giving credit card or banking information over the phone. If you are asked to provide this information, the call is likely a scam. Please hang up and report it to the Police Department at 419-468-9111.
