Curfew Information

Curfew is a law that keeps kids under the age of 18 off the streets and away from gangs, drugs and crime. Curfews, which apply to the nighttime hours, aren’t just there to keep the good kids from going bad, they are also there to keep the good kids from being hurt or becoming victims of crime.

Curfew hours in the City of Galion depend upon your age:

Minors under twelve: from 9:00PM to dawn

Minors under eighteen: Sunday through and including Thursday, between the hours of 11:00PM and 4:30AM of the following day, and on Friday and Saturday between the hours of 12:00AM and 4:30AM of the following day.

During the months of June, July and August, the curfew hours for Friday and Saturday are altered to between 1:00AM and 4:30AM of the following day.

If you are with a parent or guardian you are allowed to be out after curfew, as long as they are supervising you.

Hanging out and breaking curfew can cost you: If you are caught after curfew, there could be a fine with court costs assessed. You may also be required to do community service. Breaking curfew can also affect whether you can get or keep your driver’s license.
