USAGE RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • FEES
The rental fee for the use of the East Park Scout Cabin will be $30.00 per day, along with a $25 deposit fee which will be refunded by check through the mail approximately 15 days after rental,  assuming a "clean" receipt from the Street Department.

  • PAYMENT OF FEES
The $30 rental fee and $25 deposit fee must be paid at the City Hall Administrative Office before the cabin is used. You will be issued a receipt which you take to the Galion Police Dept. Dispatcher’s window the day you have reserved the cabin in order to pick up the key. You may get the key as early as 8:00 am. The Police Dept. will give you the key and keep your receipt until you bring back the key the same day before 11:00 P.M. If the key is not returned, the Police Dept. will have your receipt to know who to contact.

  • CLEAN UP
The cabin must be clean by the time you vacate, but no later than 11:00 P.M. when the city parks close. Any group or person failing to clean the cabin will not only lose its $25 deposit fee but may be banned from any future use. Trash should be placed into trash bags and placed in the dumpster located near the ball field and recycling trailer. A clean-up checklist is displayed inside the Cabin.

  • DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY
The Scout Cabin is normally inspected each morning. The cost of any destruction or missing property will be the responsibility of the group or person reserving the cabin. This will be in addition to losing one’s deposit fee.

  • ALCOHOL
No alcohol is permitted in the Scout Cabin since it is located in a city park.

  • NO SALES PERMITTED
No garage sales will be allowed at the Scout Cabin. It is not a commercial property and was not built for that purpose.

  • HEAT
The heater is set on 68° and should be left there. The fireplace is in working condition and can be used if you wish to bring your own wood. Please ensure any fie is out before leaving; however, do not remove the ashes. The Galion Street Department will remove any ashes from the fireplace.

  • REPORTING DAMAGE
Upon entering the Scout Cabin, if you notice something damaged or broken, please contact the Police Dept. for them to make a report.

  • CANCELLATION
If you find you are not going to use the cabin on the day you reserved, please call City Hall as soon as you know so someone else can have the opportunity to use it. The number to call for canceling is 419-468-1857.

  • CITY HELD HARMLESS
The group or person reserving the Scout Cabin will not hold the City responsible for any injuries that may occur and will notify all their guests of this.

OPEN SHELTERS
Open Shelters located in Heise, East and South Park are available for $25 per day. Shelters located at the Reservoirs or Peco Park are available for $20 a day since electricity and restroom facilities are not available.
