Please note: Shelters are used on a first-come, first served basis unless a reservation fee is paid. Shelters are $25 for a full-day rental, except the East Park Cabin which is $55. Shelters can be reserved by calling 419-468-1857 and payments can be made by cash or check at the city building.
Heise Park is located east of Portland Way North and is home to the city's swimming pool. The pool is managed by the Galion Community Center YMCA. Admission information can be obtained by calling 419-468-7754.
Heise Park also has three play areas and four shelters; the Frank, Lions and Kiwanis shelters can all be reserved for $25. The high school football, baseball and softball fields, along with the coach pitch field, little league field, tennis courts, basketball court, sand volleyball pit and horseshoes can all be found here as well. The NorthSide Farmers market is held in Heise Park from May-October. The high school baseball field is also home to the Galion Graders wood bat league team.
The Veterans Triangle is also located in Heise Park. If you'd like to request a brick (either 4x8 or 8x8), click here for the form. Forms can be mailed or dropped off in person at City Hall.
East Park is home to the city's new sprayground. There are two shelters that are open for reservations for $25, along with an enclosed cabin, which can be rented for $55. Our only skate park is located here, along with a softball field, basketball courts and playground.
South Park is home to a baseball and teeball field, along with tennis courts, playground and a shelter that can be reserved for $25.
PECO Park is the site of a quad field. Both softball and baseball are played here and there is a playground a shelter that is available to reserve for $25.
There is a shelter available for use at Cobey Park.
A 24-hole disc golf course was installed in 2014 at Amann. Disc Golf Scene ranked the course the fifth best course in Ohio. It is also home to the cross country course for the Galion City Schools cross country program, which hosts the Annual Cross Country Festival that averages 30,000 attendees.
Soccer is played at Amick and fishing is permitted.
Fishing is permitted at this reservoir.
