The City of Galion
Fire Department has been awarded a $74,000 FEMA grant to help protect
the citizens of Galion and Polk Township.
The funding will provide the
FREE OF CHARGE, to our residents:
*Smoke Detectors (2 per household) OR
*10 year lithium battery replacement for functioning, existing
smoke alarms in need.
*Reflective Numbered House Signs

Bank Payments of Utility
Bills to be Discontinued
Beginning August 1, 2014, the City of Galion Utility Office will
discontinue the acceptance of utility payments at Galion Building & Loan
and First Federal Bank of Ohio. Payments can be made online or in
person at the Utility Office or the 24-hour drop box.
Taylor Road Composting
Taylor Road will be on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19. Hours for the facility are 7:30 a.m. -
2:30 p.m. The facility accepts all yard and landscape waste, such
as limbs, brush, grass, weeds, leaves and Christmas trees (all
decorations MUST be removed) free of charge to Galion and
Polk Township residents. Chemically treated wood, such as deck
material and railroad ties, will not be accepted.
